It&#8217;s a place where you&#8217;ll find poverty, opulence and corruption alongside unparalleled beauty and diversity. Despite our challenges, there&#8217;s an intriguing charm in &#8216;Mother India&#8217;s smile&#8217; that always holds me back from hating her. One lifetime wouldn&#8217;t be enough to fully grasp the essence of this remarkable country.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Capturing Beauty, Humanity, and Stories of India<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gopan G. Nair, more affectionately known as GOPS, is not just a photographer; he is a storyteller, a poet, and an artist with a camera. His website, \u2018GOPS Creativ\u2019 (gops.org) is a treasure trove of visual narratives, each image whispering tales of life, faith, and the breathtaking beauty of his beloved motherland, India. This seemingly modest camera, which costed less than\u00a0100 Rs then\u00a0(a little more than 1 US$ now), opened up a vast horizon of possibilities. With this camera in hand, Gopan embarked on a journey that changed the way he looked at the world around him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Changing Faces of Photography:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Over the past 5 decades, Gopan witnessed the evolution of photography from\u00a0120mm black and white films\u00a0to\u00a035mm color films and transparencies, and finally, made the giant leap to\u00a0digital imaging.<\/li>\n<li>Waiting for a film roll to be completely exposed and spending hours in darkrooms was part of the process. Despite the challenges, there was immense joy in creating each capture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Immortalizing the fleeting moments on canvas<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Gopan, a self-taught artist, expertly uses Graphite, Charcoal, Water-Color, and Oil Paint to meticulously capture intricate details in his photorealistic artworks.
